The Retro Piano Stool, almost complete

I have worked on this today, putting it all back together and tacking the new oilcloth upholstery in place.  I need to find some fabric to line the inside of the seat/lid, and I'd really like to stencil a word/number/symbol along the front of it, in red to match the oilcloth, or brown to match the basecoat which is peeping through the cream where I distressed it.  Any suggestions?

And, just a reminder of how she looked before my upcycling efforts...

Duck Egg Distressed Sideboard and Matching Coffee Table

I was thrilled to find these items on trademe, from different sellers, a few days apart, as they have very similar shapes and carved detail on them.  I painted these using a technique I hadn't tried on furniture before - after scrubbing, sanding and sealing, I painted a solid dark colour underneath (Dulux Pure Zeal) and then dry-ish brushed a greeny duck-egg colour (Dulux Punakaiki) over the top, before lightly distressing just the edges, and waxing all over with white liming wax.  I am really pleased with the way they came out, and they look perfect in my lounge where they will stay - these ones are not for sale!

First, the before photos:

And what they look like now:

The Cream Lamp Table for my Mum...

Not finished yet, but doesn't it look better already!

Some more photos

Here is the bedside cabinet that I mentioned this morning - I have managed to do another couple of coats of paint on the matching duchess today...as it has 6 drawers it takes a while!

The True Blue Hutch is finished...

and here are the pictures, but first, a reminder of what it looked like before...

The True Blue Hutch is nearly complete...

I just have a little bit more distressing to finish today, then I'll take some photos of the finished item....watch this space!

Then I have to have a think about what I am going to start next...actually no I don't, I will be finishing some half-done projects that I pushed aside so I could get onto my first custom order.  There is a duchess with lovely rope carved edges that has been sealed and has the first coat of cream paint on it.  It has a matching bedside that I have already finished but not taken photos of yet (must do that!).  The other thing half-done is a cute wee retro-style piano stool (that's what I think it is, anyway)...most unloved in its 'before' state but will look super cute once I have finished it, hopefully!  I have almost finished painting the wooden box part of the seat, then I will recover the seat/lid in red and white polka dot oilcloth.  The chromed legs will come up beautifully with a scrub, I'll put it all back together, and then all will be revealed.  I am also painting a little lamp table for my mother, in cream.  It has a couple of coats on it so far and is looking much better already....I am still always amazed and impressed about what a coat of paint can do!

OK, so I have lots to do....better go paint!

The True Blue Hutch Dresser

Here are some before and during photos of the project I am currently working on, especially for the lady I am painting it for, and of course for anyone else who is interested in what I am up to this week!

I wish I could work out how to post the photos in order, but hopefully they make sense!

Here are some of my to-do projects...

There are a few of them, but at least I won't have to worry about being desperate to paint and not having anything to work on, lol!

Before and After: French Country Scrolled Cabinet

Usually when I find a new piece and I am really excited about it, I rip straight into it...patience has never been a strong point of mine!  But this piece, I have had it for a few months, and I always knew it would come up really well, and be an enjoyable piece to paint, but for some reason I kept putting it off, no idea why!  Just look at it now....

Here are my latest completed treasures....

I am a bit slow actually, I put them on Facebook last week and not here, oops!

This is the lovely wee desk, painted in cream and distressed and waxed:
